The approach aincs at a joint analiszs of the correctness of the protocol procedures and of their efficiency, using the same model: the Estelle specification. The methods were applied to the Xpress Transfer Protocol (XTP), an emerging, high performance solution for the existing and future networks and a relevant exaple for the current trends in protocol design.
