Abstract
Through digital information we understand the main matter and the structural and functional foundation of the present technical and industrial era. Therefore, the way of transmitting information could be the mean through which the industrial application can trace and reproduce with high accuracy the structural and functional features, imposed by the designer of the automation system. Even though it seems to be facile, the bi-directional transfer of the information between the control system and the driven or controlled process creates many difficulties, which are alike in designing, optimizing and running of a certain application. This paper tries to offer an introduction as a pragmatic view into the implementation area of the serial communication equipment associated to the control systems within the hydro power plants.
